The Apartment was all we thought it would be. Mum is disabled so we needed a place to stay that had easy access and space to move around with no clutter, plus a lovely view in case we had to spend the day indoors.
We stayed in the Penthouse and loved everything about it! We will most certainly be back when we next visit Hastings.
Spacious holiday apartment, with an excellent sea view. The apartment was in very good condition with everything needed for a family holiday. The walk back up from Hastings is a bit challenging but should be no problem for a person in good health.
Spent 3 nights at Rocklands for a short Easter break . Booking was easy with quick response from the owner Joan. Accommodation was spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. Fantastic view from the balcony with an occasional visit from a fox. Would definitely recommend a stay.
Our stay in this lovely clean apartment was made excellent by the owners thoughtfulness in providing milk in the fridge, tea and coffee etc. I was also surprised by the usual things like washing up liquid etc. Bed linen was nice and fresh as was the quality of the towels etc.
Nice bed room and lovely shower.
Visiting as tourists, we wanted self catering accommodation for a visit to Hastings over Easter. Rocklands Apartments were available so, based on feedback from others, we decided to chance their location. It was a great decision. On booking, Joan communicated well and was very helpful.
I stayed for 4 nights last week, the apartment was very clean and well equipped, I woke up every morning to glorious sun rises over the sea. Joan was very helpful with local knowledge which helped me with my exploring and walking of the area. Thank you very much. Lovely few days away.
Stayed in one of the 2 bed apartments for a week it was so lovely. The apartments are clean, modern and have everything you need with a great view. Did not want to leave, if you could live here i definitely would!. Will definitely return and be recommending.
This was our second stay in these apartments. They are perfect for 2 couples, having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The furnishing and fittings are all to a very good standard but what sets these apartments apart is the view from the balcony – looking out over the sea you can sit and watch the sun rise or set , you can watch the fishing boats, in fact you can just spend a lot of time watching the sea!
This is my second stay at Rocklands Apartments and it most certainly won’t be the last. I will be booking again soon for next year. Joan is very friendly and accommodating of any needs you might have. The apartments are absolutely fabulous.
This is situated in a holiday park that is quiet & well run. Its in a lovely position on the East Cliff, & you can walk along the top in the country park with fabulous views over Hastings. And you can fairly easily walk down steps into Hastings Old Town.
We stayed here during house moves and found it home from home. Beautiful view across the channel, helped by some good sunshine, in quiet surroundings.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with lovely views. The location is secluded but perfect if you don’t mind a scenic walk into town.
As always we have been very warmly welcomed by Joan. The nice touches as tea, coffee, sugar and a pint of milk are just what we need after a four hour drive.
The apartment is fully kitted out with everything you need and it’s always very clean and tidy when you arrive.
We will be back in November without fail.

As former Hastings born and bred people, we have lived in Boston Massachusetts for over fifty years. We love Boston but have a wonderful respect for the dear town of our youth. Since retirement we come Bach each year for three weeks and are delighted to have discovered Rocklands several years ago. Rocklands is everything we could wish for in a home away from home. A comfortable clean well equipped apartment with a beatiful view and close proximity to the town. It is family owned and the grounds are well maintained . The host and hostess Len and Joan are the best and we have already booked for our 2017 stay
Everything we had hoped for. Clean, tidy well equipped. We had a lovely week and we were blessed with gorgeous weather. Lovely view and close to Hastings.
Joan was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would not hesitate in recommending the apartments and would definitely return.
This was my first stay at Rocklands and I was very impressed with the standard of the apartments and how clean and comfortable they were. The great views were perfect for sitting outside having breakfast or just relaxing in the evening. There was a fox and also badgers walking around in the evenings. The owners were very friendly. It was a 10 minute walk to the East Hill Funicular Railway to take you down to the beach and Old Town. I would fully recommend staying here and will look to stay again in the future.
Stayed for a week the apartment was everything we had hoped for, met by Joan on arrival and everything was clearly explained (including where the local pubs etc.. were). The apartments are perfectly positioned with fabulous view and the arrival of Fox and Badgers on the lawns outside gave the whole experience that little something extra. Sitting outside with a cold beer overlooking the sea was wonderful. Apartment extremely well equipped, clean, tidy and well furnished and decorated, would have no hesitation in returning or recommending this to anyone, great location as a base to explore Sussex and Kent or simply stay in Hastings and enjoy everything it has to offer
Made very welcome as always. Tea, Coffee and milk to start us off very much appreciated. Beautiful well appointed and spotlessly clean apartment. Very nice sitting out on the patio at the end of the day. Great location for long walks and exploring. Fantastic time had by both of us.

We have just returned from a four night stay at Rocklands Holiday Park. The apartment was extremely clean, well equipped and had a beautiful view over the sea. We were in Hastings to help our daughter move house, and were very pleased to find that even in the summer school holidays, we did not have to book a full week, and could just stay for 4 nights, arriving on a Sunday. When we arrived we were even happier!
The arrangements were very smooth and we were welcomed warmly by Joan, the owner, who then showed us around the apartment. The Holiday Park is very quiet, and when we were there, not many of the mobile homes were occupied. Directly outside the gate is the entrance to Hastings Country Park, which is a lovely place for a walk. All in all, we felt that this was one of the best apartments we have stayed in in the UK.

This was my third visit to the apartments with my partner and my elderly parents. I most definitely intend to book again. The views and the surroundings are beautiful. The place is extremely clean and like a home from home. Everything has been thought about carefully. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are luxury with plenty of space. It is such a relaxing place and very peaceful too that I didn’t mind returning early in the evening just to chill out and watch the boats out at sea. I cannot wait to return. There are some lovely walks in the area and it is a short walk to the cliff lift to take you down onto Hastings beach and the old Fishermen’s huts. There is a lovely tearoom at Fairlight, called Coastguards, which is well worth a visit. It is an all round wonderful place to stay and it is made even better by the friendly owners, Joan and Len who give you a warm welcome when you arrive. I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit.

The apartment is of high quality and the owners make you feel very welcome. If you want tranquillity, views of a rising moon over the sea and a selection of wildlife and a glass of wine on the balcony this is the place to stay! This apartment is thoroughly recommended!
Just returned from a week chillaxing at the Rocklands Apartments in Hastings. They are sited on East Hill on the edge of the caravan park. The site is beautiful, very quite and peaceful and with a lovely view down the hill to the sea. Under a large tree you will see rabbits and in the evening a fox and a family of badgers come to visit. They all live happily alongside each other.
The apartments are immaculate and the owner Joan makes you feel welcome and explains everything to you. She is close by if you need her but never intrusive in any way. Everything you need is provided in the apartment, including items like washing up liquid, foil and kitchen roll etc, all the things you always need but other owners never provide. The town of Hastings can be reached on foot from the apartments across the country park and down to the town using either the steps or the East Hill lift which is a funicular railway, which closes at teatime. It was nice to be able to reach the town quickly but be away from the hustle and bustle in the peace and quiet of Rocklands.
If you are a member of the National Trust there are a number of properties within a 50 mile radius to visit and a drive out to the Birling Gap and The Seven Sisters was a worthwhile visit.
Whilst at Rocklands we were fortunate to see the “Strawberry Moon” and had a great view from the apartment of it rising in the sky and shining over the sea.
All in all I would be happy to recommend a stay at Rocklands especially if you want to get away from it all. (If you want to be out and about at night in pubs and restaurants you will either need a nominated driver or a taxi, but it’s 5 minutes by car into town).

If you are after a quite comfortable holiday rent look no further, it is set in such a lovely position that positively promotes a sense of well-being, the accommodation is well appointed, bright and airy. Would I consider going back again? Without a doubt I would.
Excellent apartment with a good view of the sea. Ideal location for getting around the coast of East Sussex and Kent. The three queries we had on arrival were soon dealt with by Joan, and the alternative Wi-Fi link proved to be much better. The driving directions given by Joan were great and easy to follow. We found a fantastic Italian Restaurant ‘Bella Vista’ on the Grand Parade, St.Leonards. The meal there finished off a great holiday.
Rocklands Apartments are in a lovely situation overlooking the sea. They have been built to a fairly high specification and include all mod cons including power showers, underfloor heating (I think – we couldn’t find the source anyway!), TV with Freeview and wi-fi. The kitchen was kitted out with everything we could possibly have needed including washing up liquid, cloths, tea and coffee and even a pint of milk in the fridge, thank you Joan. It was nice to find shower gel and soap in the bathroom, something only usually offered in hotels. Everywhere was clean, the beds and sofas were comfortable and we loved sitting and watching the local wildlife from the patio windows – never having seen badgers in the wild before. The park itself was very quiet which (being ladies of a certain age) suited us. We could hear the guests in the apartment above but it wasn’t particularly obtrusive.
Hastings old town is very picturesque and around a fifteen minute walk via the East Hill steps. There is a funicular lift down to the bottom which we resisted but for those who struggle with steps it’s a useful option. The climb back up is a little more challenging and not advisable in the dark. Coming back the ‘road’ way could take a good half hour to an hour but Joan advised that local taxis are very cheap and there were telephone numbers for them in the information pack. Our only complaint? The weather was unseasonably awful! But we appreciate that’s not within anyone’s control 🙂

We stayed last year, and enjoyed it so much we have just returned from a 2nd visit. The apartment has private parking, good clean furnishings, fully equipped, and the most wonderful location. Sitting on the balcony looking out to sea, badger and fox spotting in the evening, or a walk in Hastings Nature Park right next door, what could be better. Joan is most accommodating with local information and places to eat. We took her advice and had a good meal, reasonably priced in nearby Icklesham
We could well be back for visit number 3!!!
This is our second visit to Rocklands and as we stayed for over three weeks we decided to go for the larger apartment for more storage space and I may have needed a separate bedroom. The apartments are well equiped with all that you need. Beds are fresh and linen good quality. If you are looking to do a walking holiday they are in a fantastic location, You can walk to the old town over the east hill and take the cable car back up. There is a laundry on site and all flats come with underfloor heating if you want to go out of season.
Have just spent two fabulous weeks at Rocklands Holiday Park. There were seven of us and we rented two, two bedroom apartments. The apartments were spacious, extremely well appointed and spotlessly clean. Each apartment had a balcony with spectacular sea views.
Joan was there to welcome us when we arrived and she and Len were always on hand if needed. Nice little touches like a pint of milk, tea, coffee and sugar and mini toiletries in the bathrooms. Lovely soft towels and pristine bedding. The whole site was well kept and so quiet. It was also wonderful to be visited by badgers and foxes in the evening and Woodpeckers during the day.
The walk across the country park and down to the Old Town was fine on the way down, but the stairs are very challenging on the way back up. Take a torch if returning on foot at night! You can walk the road way, but the steep hills are still quite challenging. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back and stay here again another year.
